Dayton General Hospital Named Critical Access Hospital of the Year by LifeNet Health
Dayton General Hospital has been named Critical Access Hospital of the Year by LifeNet Health.
This recognition honors the quiet, compassionate, and life-changing work our care teams do to support patients and families during some of life’s most difficult moments. At Dayton General Hospital, every effort is made to save a patient’s life. When that is no longer possible, our team helps ensure families receive clear information, compassionate support, and the opportunity to honor their loved one’s wishes through organ and tissue donation.
We are especially proud to recognize Gretchen Eslick, Director of Nursing Services for Dayton General Hospital, for her leadership in guiding this important work and supporting the team behind these efforts.
In 2025, Dayton General Hospital achieved a 100% referral rate and full compliance with timeliness standards — a reflection of the dedication, teamwork, and compassion shown by our staff.
One tissue donor can help restore health for up to 150 patients, giving others the chance to recover, regain independence, restore sight, and move forward with a better quality of life.
We are proud to partner with LifeNet Health and grateful to Gretchen and the entire Dayton General Hospital team for showing how a small community hospital can make a far-reaching impact.
Congratulations to everyone who helps carry forward this mission of healing, hope, dignity, and respect.
