Finding Hope Close to Home

After living for several months with a chronic post-surgical wound, Catherine Anderson was exhausted by the pain, discomfort, and lack of progress.

She reached out to her primary care physician for guidance. His recommendation was simple: “Go to Dayton.”

Catherine called the Wound Care & Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Center at Columbia County Health System that same day. Two months later, she is sharing a much happier chapter of her story.

Her experience is a reminder that asking for help can be the first step toward renewed hope. It also shows the difference that specialized care, encouragement, and a dedicated local team can make during a difficult time.

Advanced wound care may help patients with wounds that are slow to heal or have not improved with standard treatment. CCHS provides specialized wound care in Dayton for conditions such as chronic wounds, post-surgical wounds and other complex healing concerns. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy may also be appropriate for certain qualifying conditions.

We are grateful to Catherine for sharing her story and helping others know that advanced wound care is available close to home. Click here to watch her interview.
