Celebrating Rural Health with #Powerofrural and Community Stars
The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health is the membership association of the nation’s 50 State Offices of Rural Health. State Offices of Rural Health are anchors of information and support for rural communities, health professionals, hospitals and clinics across the nation. They are dedicated to collaboration, education, communication and innovation to improve health in small towns around the country. On the third Thursday of November every year, the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health leads National Rural Health Day, an annual day of recognition for those who serve the vital health needs of over 60 million people residing in America’s rural communities, estimated to be 1 in 5 Americans.
We are grateful for the nomination and selection as a “Community Star”. This type of achievement would not be possible without the support of our amazing communities, a board that enables us to be innovative, and the best team of people one could ever hope to work with. This is truly the power of rural healthcare: Our communities pulling together to support the health and well being of their neighbors, friends, and families. #Powerofrural

The town’s that still believe…..
….and the children that still hear Santa’s bells. The Health System was proud to bring our Polar Express float to both Dayton and Waitsburg’s lighted parades. We love the look of wonder on the children’s faces:
New pharmacy area to be turned over to the hospital in 2 weeks
The new pharmacy area will be turned over to the hospital by the construction company within the next two weeks. Flooring is scheduled to be installed on Monday, October 31st with a terminal clean performed by the end of the week. The following week will be a review of any outstanding or incomplete items with a possible turnover by the end of the week. We are excited to be using the new, purpose built space!
Now accepting on-line payments!
We have added an on-line payment option for your convenience. You can now pay your hospital, clinic, or other health system bill here: https://cchd-wa.org/bill-pay Payment methods include Visa, MasterCard, and Discover!
Building Foundations
The definition of foundation can be “the lowest load-bearing part of a building, typically below ground level,” or “an underlying basis or principle for something.” We are building foundations for improved healthcare and outcomes for our communities and all patients that use our services. We are very excited by the progress and are still on schedule to complete Phase I by the end of the year. If you are looking for more information on the construction project, please remember our build.cchd-wa.org.

Columbia County Health System is a Participant in the National Rural Accountable Care Organization
Columbia County Health System announces its National Rural Accountable Care Organization Participation at a public launch meeting held at the Best Western Hotel on March 2nd, 2016.
Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs): Providing Better, Coordinated Care for You. Columbia County Health System is participating in the National Rural Accountable Care Organization, National Rural ACO 16, LLC, a Medicare Shared Savings Program ACO. An ACO is a group of doctors, hospitals, and/or other health care providers working together with Medicare to give you better, more coordinated service and health care. Think of an ACO as a team made up of your doctors and other health care providers. We are working together to share important information and resources about your individual needs and preferences. Doctors and hospitals in an ACO communicate with you and with each other to make sure that you get the care you need when you’re sick, and the support you need to stay healthy.
As the Nation moves away from pay for service to payment based on value and quality, Columbia County Health System will remain positioned to serve our communities. We are proud to be participating with other early adopters of this Medicare program.
